December 2011

Dad had surgery to remove a salivary gland and some stones that we in the gland.  It turned out to be a little worse than they originally thought and they had to remove a lot of infection.  Luckily he is slowly feeling better.

We had snow again the beginning of December!!

We had a fun outing with work when we all meet up at Spaghetti Warehouse in Memphis and then went over to the FedEx Forum to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra!  It was awesome!

I took some family pictures of a friend from work.  We met in downtown Memphis and her husband found us some awesome spots for pictures.  It was so much fun and I am very happy with the results.

Christmas!  We once again drove down to Florida to spend Christmas with our families.  We had a great time being “home” and relaxing with our families.

That’s the short recap of the 2nd half of 2011.  I know I probably left out a lot of other stuff that happened...but that's all I remember right now!  We will have a nephew in less than a month and Trent graduates in May…so we are looking forward to 2012!  Happy New Year!

November 2011

We went to our first Bonfire event with Bellevue.  It was awesome.  Its an event that the young singles have each year out on a farm.  There was hamburger/hotdogs, human foosball, and line dancing…and of course a bonfire.  Human foosball was so fun to watch…such a great idea.  I didn’t take my camera, so sorry…there are no pictures.

Thanksgiving!!  We drove home and had a great time with our families.

Trent was able to preach at our home church – Sand Hills Baptist Church the Sunday after thanksgiving.  We got back to Memphis and it snowed that week!  It was beautiful!
Trent started a new job November 28th.  He still is an intern at Bellevue, but moved to a different department.  Now he is working in the young singles department where he has been teaching.

October 2011

Softball ended L It was so much fun.  We were one win away from being in the tournament, but didn’t make it.  It was great to meet new people and enjoy the game again.

I had really been wanting some new pictures of Trent and I after taking pictures of our friends and their families.  So I got my friend Stephanie to meet us and take some pictures for me.  Thanks Steph!!

Trent and I bought tickets to go to the Alabama vs Ole Miss game in Oxford since it was in Oxford and wasn’t far from us, and it was a lot cheaper than going to a home game.  It was SO much fun!  It’s a lot smaller than going to T-town and the seats where much closer to the field.  So we felt like we were really in the game…plus it was an awesome game.

I got to participate in an event in Memphis that was awesome.  It was called Jesus Loves Memphis.  Bellevue has been doing Bellevue Loves Memphis for a while and it got expanded to include several other churches in the area.  We all got together and went out into the community and did service projects.  I went with our singles class and helped clean up neighbors near the Liberty Bowl.  Afterwards, everything gathered at the Liberty Bowl for lunch and prayer.

Trent and I got to go to our first Skillet concert!! We were super pumped about this and had a great time.  It was very loud!  But they put on a great concert.

Halloween – we decided at work that we would pick a theme and all dress up according to the theme.  So we decided on cats and all picked a cat.  I, of course, picked Hello Kitty so I could wear pink!  We even had a kitty litter cake to eat to bring the whole theme together!

I also took 9 month pictures of Katie during October.

September 2011

Trent and I went to the Germantown Festival for the first time since living in Memphis.  Its basically a huge craft fair in Germantown.  A friend of mine from work had a booth there, so we went to check it out.  It was really fun!

Labor day with friends!  We always have a cookout with our closest friends here in housing.  We setup the TV on the back porch and have some awesome food.  We invited a few more friends this year and had a great time hanging out.

I also took pictures of our upstairs neighbors in September.  They had a new baby and needed some family pictures, so of course I volunteered.  J  It was a cloudy day and I was worried it might rain, but the pictures turned out awesome I thought….they are actually some of my favorites!  Such a beautiful family!  They are some awesome people.

August 2011

Awesome August at Bellevue!  We enjoyed hearing from several different preachers on Wednesday nights.

Trent started his last year of his master’s degree!!

I started softball at Bellevue.  I was on a co-ed team that played on Thursday.  So much fun!  I even conquered my fears and played catcher!  It was really fun after I got the hang of it.

We drove down to Hamilton, AL for Fulton Bridge Baptist Chruch’s 100 Anniversary.  This is the church that Trent’s grandmother was a member of.

Trent’s birthday!

I got some sad new the end of August.  My dog died.  L  Lady lived with mom and dad since we couldn’t have pets here…and because they really loved her and she was part of the family.  So this was a really sad day for us.

July 2011

I flew to Florida (without Trent since he had to work) to spend a week with my parents the week of my birthday. My Dad was undergoing radiation treatments for throat cancer so I thought I would go home and help them out a little bit.  So I got to be Dad’s chauffeur for the week .  J

In July, I also took 6 month pictures of my friend’s little girl – Katie.

June 2011

So I figured since its officially 2012 I should update this blog from where I left off last time….so in recap, here is the last half of 2011!

June

Trent and I participated in a 5k at Bellevue.  It was a fundraiser for the Young Adult Singles department that Trent has been teaching in.  They were raising funds for their mission trip to Nicaragua.  It was fun and a good motivator to run!  Well…I (Jennifer) enjoyed it at least.  I finished the race in 37:56 and Trent finished close behind me at 40:25.

Then later on that month, Trent’s parents and siblings came up to visit and we all celebrated Trent’s parents 40th wedding anniversary.  This included the Memphis Zoo, Sheridan’s, Corky’s, and Starlight Spectacular at Bellevue.  It was a lot of fun!

Sometime around end of June-beginning of July, my friend gracious let me practice taking pictures by letting me photography her girls and her family.  It was lots of fun, even though it was very hot! I learned a lot that day!
